Position: Senior Editor, Producer and Video Post Production Manager – Web Video

In July 2013 The Sun Newspaper set up Sun Studios to create original video content for the launch of its new Sun Plus website. With two weeks to launch no post-production services or video editors were in place.

Appointed as senior video editor, producer and post-production manager.

Responsible for final edit and final delivery to website of all productions; first point of contact between producers and other departments of the paper; trained new staff on edit workflow and Sun website delivery; worked personally with talent such as Ian Wright; and technical support for all post-production issues.

Succeeded in delivering quality video content for The Sun Plus website which contributed to increased website subscription growth of 600,000 paid subscribers up to December 2014.

ROLES:

Senior Video Editor, Producer and Post-Production Manager for Sun Studios.

Responsible for final edit and hosting of all of Sun Studios video content to create increased subscription and website retention.

Lead Editor and post-production supervisor of a team that consists of four other editors.

Responsible for all final video team productions, quality control and video website hosting.

Main consultant between editors and producers.

Lead technical advisor for all post-production workflow.

Lead technical advisor for freelance camera crews.

Creator of technical guides for freelance editors and camera crews on workflow.

Department coordinator between post-production and other departments such as graphics and editorial.

Trainer of new staff and freelancers on production and post-production workflow.

 ACHIEVEMENTS:

Organiser and supervisor of all post-production staff for Sun Studios.

Increased overall traffic to The Sun website helping to create 600,000 website subscribers up to December 2014.

Created post-production workflow for department where none originally existed.

Worked personally with talent such as Ian Wright daily.

Programmes such as ‘Wrighty’s Road To Wembley’ gained sponsorship from F.A. Cup.

Lead Editor on two daily football sport review show’s ‘The Sun FC’ and ‘Wrighty’s Sun FC’ with full promotion in The Sun Newspaper.

First point of contact between post-production and other departments of the Sun Newspaper.

Creator of motion graphics for Sun video straps, animations and titles.
