BRASS EYE

Employer: Zeppotron – Talk Back

Position: Animator

In December 2001 Chris Morris approached comedy production-company Zeppotron to create hoax Internet games for his Brass Eye Special.  Because of the sensitivity of the subject matter Zeppotron decided to hire myself as an outside contractor to do the work of developing a child’s interactive Internet game. This meant creating an animated character and web video game that would convince celebrities was real. The broadcast of the final show caused huge controversy and for a while was the most complained about show in the history of UK television. It later went on to win several awards and I am proud with my involvement in its production.

ROLES:

Hired as main animator for ‘Pantu the dog’ game

Created ‘Pantu’ dog character

Programmed Internet Flash game

Consult with Chris Morris and Charlie Brooker for hoax Internet game development.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

Succeeded in delivering final animation on time and on budget

Final show awarded best comedy programme award 2002 by Broadcast Magazine.
